Find child care and education programs that offer full- or part-day care for your child:

Child care and after school care can provide a learning environment for your child to support his or her growth and development at any age. Check out the “How to select a child care” resources to help you pick a high-quality child care option and learn whether you qualify for child care scholarships.

Prekindergarten is available through the public school system for children age three or four (when available and for families who may qualify).

Early Head Start and Head Start promote the school readiness of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, age birth to five (when available and for families who may qualify).

Early Childhood Special Education includes resources for children with special needs.

K-12 includes public education resources for children ages 5 and older.

 

Get Involved: Texas Early Learning Council

The Texas Early Learning Council serves as Texas' state advisory council as required by the federal Improving Head Start for School Readiness Act of 2007. Public comment is accepted at all meetings.
